HADA LABO Hydrating Lotion ‘Fu Ying & Lovell Chan’
A 2nd collaboration with Clients Hada Labo, Astro & ATF, these boards were quite different. Not needing to be cinematic but aspirational yet comical to an extent, writers Howie & Daniel – Producer – for the Chinese Scripts with Iman for the Malay scripts had a challenge on their hands. To come up with stories that don’t necessarily relate to real life, but are distinctly different from each other. For this board, we wanted it to be completely outdoors, & so, being my difficult self, I wanted a camp site with a beautiful view. The production gave me this location in Hulu Langat called the Sea of Clouds, & we were extremely lucky to get to film it although it was very early in the AM. Driving up to the location was tricky as it was a 1 way rocky pathway. We had things easier, as our talents, FuYing & Lovell – a real couple – have the right chemistry & authentism in their actions, so although it was mostly a hot day, & we had to hike up about 5-10mins from the toilet at base camp to the campsite, they persevered & we wrapped right at sunset. Shot using the Sony FS7 & Panasonic S1H, we covered as much footages as we could, so we didn’t have to reshoot the fluid conversations between the couple. DP was Loh, & graded by Danny Gan.
