Domino’s ‘Mac & Cheesy Pizza’

Constantly finding ways to make things visually exciting & fresh – even after working on several Domino’s campaigns – that is the challenge we face.  And with this board, the brief was to have fun! Go wild with the edits.  From a concept from Agency FCB & working with KDCo, we pursued this with creativity on a smaller budget – no fancy rigging or camera equipment, just pure old-school manual rigs enhance with pure delightful editing magic.  As usual, we only had 2 days to shoot this, working on an average of 5-6 shots a day, with a separate camera on timelapse.  This time around, we opted for pure food porn shots without any talents or hand talents.  The most-time consuming scenes involved the 3 different cheese pull scenes, even with shooting separate layers of the cheese pull & the ingredients & marrying it together during Online.  We cheated the cheese pull slightly, & used some magic ingredients (borax) to create the soft & elastic feel of the cheese.  For the opening cheese pour & cheese splash, we utilized paint to create the effect, greatly keeping our costs down.  Shot with DP Chin, using the Freefly Ember 5k camera for hi-speed footage on Day 1, & the Red V Raptor for the normal speed shots with the Sony A7SIII for timelapse on Day 2.  Edited by Fai, & full Grade + Online by Meccanica EFX.  Music by Ananth.
