LAY’S ‘Extra Smoky’
One of 3 boards, under Prodigious (production producer Pei Wen) & Agency Publicis, we set out to create some delicious BBQ meat skewer shots with all 3 being different enough coupled with dynamic product transformations. With the help of AI to recreate some of the backgrounds, we shot our talent against green screen. A lot of layers were required to allow for compositing but the entire opening scene is all real, with a real wooden panel flooring & carpet grass, with actual flame embers flying up towards camera. Initially I had the idea of shooting the transition scene from hand holding the skewer to the chip as a static shot. But on set, I had the sudden urge to add a dynamic probe lens movement without the use of motion control. So we tried our best to replicate the movement for the 2 passes, & in the end it looks pretty seamless.
