DOMINO’S ‘Pepperoni-roni : Kitchen Voices’

Agency FCB wanted to infuse a bit of a story to this one.  And I like it. Slightly different from what I’ve done in recent years.  A bit of humour if you will, but having these ‘kitchen voices’ drive our Domino’s chef to create a bigger & more abundant pizza was a clever touch.  We shot in the Domino’s Kitchen – not the biggest space, but we made it work – in 1 day, & created some dazzling slow-mo shots using the Phantom Veo on several pepperoni drop shots.  Our chef talent performed well as it was rather tricky to show wonder at first, & straight into an ‘aha’ moment, but he did it.  The biggest challenge we faced was actually the making of the pizza.  It sounds simple, more & more pepperoni, however, the pizza also had a new & extremely unique Mozzarella Twisty Crust! The spacing & gaps between each twist had to be perfect, together with the size of each twist.  Needless to say, this took quite a long time to perfect.  Couple that with some dynamic cheese pull shots, & we have a pretty good final film. One of the shots I’m most proud of is the camera tracking into the pizza cutting shot – it almost seems like a robotic arm move, but was all done with a Ubangi & Elemack Dolly.  Shot with DP Kenz Koh, using the Phantom Veo on some shots & the Red Raptor for others.  Food stylist was Bob, with editing by Fai, & full post production by Meccanica EFX. Music composition by Ananth.
