MISTER POTATO ‘Bola Takde Takpe’
Not a full-on comedy, but there were some moments. Approached by Clients with their own in-house Agency, we worked with Lightflux Productions to create 3 exciting football films related to the upcoming Fifa World Cup, shot over 2 days. This film was shot in the morning & fully outdoors, with one complete AI shot – where the ball falls back down to earth. We needed composite the Potato Ball, so for some of the scenes, we had our striker chest & head an invisible ball. We also comped in the shot where the ball flies towards our goalie & he catches it with his mouth & chomps it. This was repeated several times, as we needed to ensure we had the right reactions. Our poor goalie persevered, with an upbeat attitude throughout. And he ended up with a sore throat as the Potato Balls are extremely spicy. Great talents from all 3 mains, & even our extras. And of course, our Mister Potato mascot himself – Client’s very own volunteer – who performed all the comedic movements without much prompting from anyone. He embraced the role whole heartedly. Overall, we had an extremely good morning, the sun was strong (maybe a bit too strong) & everything went according to plan. DPed by Boon, using the Sony Venice. Edited by Gerard, Color Graded by Jia Seng, & Online by Joon of DeTouche Post.
