MARRYBROWN ‘Hari Malaysia – Anak Malaysia Sejati’

Proud of what we managed to achieve considering the quick turnaround, & it actually turned out good.  With an idea from Dentsu, Shootworkasia pulled off a super rushed job with multiple locations & setups, all done within one long day.  No easy task, as our main location was in Bukit Kapar – with several house setups & the neighbouring area, and the Marrybrown outlet was about 30minutes away, & on top of that, we created rain for 2 scenes!  Our talents – from the young to the older folks, each played a fantastic role in making the film feel real & grounded, as the key thing here was to get genuine spicy expressions.  We didn’t want to exaggerate much, and had to show a variety of Marrybrowns spicy dishes.  We kept our takes short & sweet, opting to have the camera dolly in in every shot, to keep the energy & movements forward all the time.  This kept things focused in the middle of frame, & we didn’t have many cut aways from each talent.  For 1 particular scene of course, we had a little bit of help from AI.  😊  DPed by Wai, using mostly the DJI Ronin 4D for all tracking shots, and the Kinefinity Mavo6k for the tabletop food shot.  Art department Jack Tian, with Post-Production by Cold Ramen Studios – Onion as Offline editor, Nash as color grader – Oliver as Online editor.
