AMBANK RAYA 2025 ‘Bisikan Pulang’
One of the fastest turnarounds required for Shootworksasia & myself – from Agency Hakuhodo’s concept all the way to completion. Of course, we hit the ground running once the job was confirmed, & the 2 most challenging things we faced were – not weather, thankfully it didn’t rain although the weather report said it would – the amount of shots we had to finish in 1 day (ended up being 25hours of shoot with 2 cameras) AND the one day of Online Touch Ups, etc before the final Online presentation! So, with DP Loh, we set out to shoot some lovely shots & more importantly, some emotional scenes with our main talent. He had a heavy burden, being relatively new in the industry, as the entire success of the film hinged on his ability to emote & garner empathy from the audience. Some scenes required more coaxing than others, but in the end, what you see in the final film – thanks to wonderful editing by Onion – is what really matters. We shot in Banting in multiple locations – an orphanage setup in a building, then some road driving scenes & finally, our main Kampung family home, that we also had to dress up to give that Raya feel, & to convert one of the areas in the house to a more modern house setting for a flashback scene. We had all kinds of Raya specific dishes & house décor that just made the visuals all the more authentic. Shot using the Mavo Kinefinity 6k, with the DJI Ronin 4D as a 2nd unit operated by myself, & for some car mounts, we had the DJI Osmo for easier logistics – which saved us quite a bit of time.
