GWM TANK 500 ‘DARE’

So, when GWM Malaysia approached Shootworksasia to pitch for their Tank 500 job, we jumped at this rare opportunity.  The challenge was we needed to come up with the concept from scratch & to do it in double time.  With the help of some writers, we presented several ideas & one was selected.  Soon after, Agency MBCS was appointed the Agency for GWM, & they further refined that idea into what it is now.  Time was never really on our side, as we had ONE week from confirmed board to our actual shoot!  The entire process had to be streamlined & organic, causing stressful days & nights for the production in finding the right talents, locations, recce, everything before the Raya holidays.  But I must say, I’m super stoked with the final outcome but still wonder what it could have been if we had even more prep time…  Shot over 3 days (1^st day was an overnight shoot in KL City), the next was a down day & we continued for the next 2 days in Sg. Congkak, Shah Alam & Puncak Alam.   Thankfully, weather was pretty decent most of the time.  We shot with a variety of cameras; Mavo Kinefinity 6k, Arri Alexa Mini LF, DJI Ronin 4d, and anamorphic lenses from DP Oscar Tong, together with the Red Komodo on the Cinelifter, DJI Inspire 3 drone & the Go Pro from FPV pilot extraordinaire Xiao Yang.   Edited by Fai, Color graded by Kah Sing, & Onlined by De Touche.  Music composition by The Rec Room.
